"PRactice abroad" scheme is the yearly competition organized by Institute of Media Monitoring (IMM) addressed to students engrossed with PR and social communication issues. Created in cooperation with social partners and renowned PR agencies, it is the only in the kind scheme in Poland.
The scheme admits both full and part-time students that fill out application form and submit competitive assignment. In each edition students could chose one of three assignments covering various public relations issues for NGO sector.
The scheme aims to enable students to undergo prestigious training in one of PR agencies branches outside of Poland. At the same time, the selected Non-Governmental Organization receives a possibility to implement communication strategy tailored especially for its needs under the supervision of the industry's experts.
Professional standard of the scheme is secured through the surveillance of renowned experts in PR: Gerald Stanisław Abramczyk, professional consultant-coach in communication, president of Polish Public Relations Association; Piotr Czarnowski, founder of first in Poland PR agency; Anna Sanowska - Institute of Media Monitoring PR Director; Jacek Warchala - co-author of a handbook "Budowanie public relations" and representatives of Polish Public Relations Consultancies Association and Polish Public Relations Association. Whether the assignments are consistent with the scope of activities of NGO invited to cooperation is verified by the organization's representative who is also one of members of the jury.
The year 2010 saw already VII edition of the scheme as part of which Institute of Media Monitoring cooperated with, among others, WWF Polska, Amnesty International or Polish Humanitarian Organization (PAH). Student participants of VII edition devised communication strategy for "Akogo?" Ewa Błaszczyk foundation.
